Job description
This role requires a proven track record in B2B client management, deep expertise in marketing strategy, and the ability to operate independently with minimal oversight.
Key Responsibilities (10–20 hours/week)
1. Strategic Client Leadership (70% of Time)
- Serve as the senior strategic point of contact for 2–4 key B2B clients, establishing and maintaining executive-level relationships.
- Lead the development of annual and quarterly marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with client business objectives (e.g., revenue growth, MQL goals, product adoption).
- Conduct regular (e.g., bi-weekly/monthly) strategy and performance reviews with clients, providing actionable insights and proactive recommendations.
2. Account Growth and Commercial Management (30% of Time)
- Actively identify, scope, and pitch expansion opportunities (upsells/cross-sells) within the assigned client portfolio.
- Be accountable for account profitability, negotiating contracts, scopes of work (SOWs), and change orders to ensure agency fees align with deliverables and value.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and drive the SOW renewal process.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of 8+ years of experience in a client-facing role within a B2B agency environment (Account Director, Group Account Director, or equivalent).
- Demonstrable expertise in B2B marketing disciplines, including content marketing, demand generation, ABM, and marketing automation.
- Proven commercial acumen with a track record of successfully managing $500k+ in annual client retainer budgets and driving account growth.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, particularly at the C-suite and VP level.
- High level of independence and self-management; comfortable with a fractional, remote work schedule.
