About Our Client
Our client is a finance partner for early-stage and scaling U.S. companies that have outgrown their bookkeeper. Working as an extension of each client’s business, our client provides financial reporting, compliance, and strategic insight to help founders understand and manage their numbers.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to manage accounting and reporting for a portfolio of client companies. You’ll prepare journal entries and financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, while serving as a trusted point of contact for founders and business owners.
Many clients are still building their finance processes, so you’ll need to be comfortable working with incomplete or disorganized records, creating structure, and adapting as business needs evolve. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and translating financial information into clear, practical insights.
As the client portfolio grows, there may be opportunities to contribute to due diligence engagements, technical accounting projects, and team development.
What You’ll Do
- Manage accounting and reporting across multiple client companies, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements
- Maintain financial records in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Serve as a direct point of contact for founders and business owners, explaining financial results and resolving questions
- Assess existing accounting processes, identify gaps, and build workflows that improve accuracy and efficiency
- Manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple clients or entities
- Support additional projects, including due diligence and technical accounting, as the business grows
What You’ll Bring
- Experience independently managing accounting and reporting under U.S. GAAP
- Ability to manage multiple clients or entities and consistently meet deadlines
- Experience working directly with founders, owners, or other non-finance stakeholders
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain financial information in clear, accessible language
- A practical, solutions-oriented approach to improving accounting processes and working through ambiguity
Preferred Skills & Credential
- CPA
- Public accounting or outsourced accounting experience
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Xero
- Hands-on experience with ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Experience supporting startups or working at a fractional CFO or finance firm
Why You’ll Love Working for Our Client
- Flexibility to create your own hours
- Partner closely with founders and growing businesses, making a direct impact on their financial clarity and decision-making
- Take ownership of meaningful work and help build better processes from the ground up
- Enjoy variety across a portfolio of early-stage and scaling companies
- Expand your expertise through opportunities in due diligence, technical accounting, and team development
