Job description

The Mom Project is excited to support our client, a Microsoft Dynamics consulting organization, with their search for an experienced Controller to join them in a fractional capacity.


Overview

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic Global Controller to lead worldwide accounting and financial reporting operations for a growing, internationally distributed organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, compliance across multiple jurisdictions, and scaling finance processes to support continued growth. Experience with ERP implementation or optimization is highly preferred.


Key Responsibilities

Global Accounting & Close

  • Own global monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple legal entities and countries
  • Ensure timely, accurate consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP (or IFRS, as applicable)
  • Manage intercompany accounting, eliminations, and foreign currency transactions

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across 30 countries
  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and local accounting firms
  • Design, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Lead or support ERP system implementation, upgrades, and optimizations
  • Drive standardization and automation of global accounting processes
  • Partner cross-functionally with IT, FP&A, HR, and Operations to improve data integrity and reporting

Leadership & Team Management

  • Manage and develop a distributed global accounting team and/or external partners
  • Provide mentorship, performance management, and career development for team members Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership

Strategic Support

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Assist with M&A integration, entity setup, and international expansion initiatives
  • Provide financial insights to support business decision-making

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 8-12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and global accounting principles
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency, international operations

Preferred

  • Prior experience in a company with 100-500 employees
  • ERP implementation or major system transformation experience
  • Experience working with distributed or remote global teams
  • Exposure to private equity-backed or high-growth environments

Hours and Location:

  • 40 hours a week - flexible scheduling with 3 days/week in-office in Marietta, GA
