Job description
Our Customer is an American worldwide clothing and accessories retailer, founded in 1969. Over the last 50 years, the company has grown from a single store to a global fashion business with seven brands. Their clothes are available in 90 countries worldwide through over 3,100 company-operated stores, almost 400 franchise stores, and e-commerce sites and is still growing.
We are seeking a Freelance Organic Social Designer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role will create impactful and innovative organic social content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Snapchat. This role works in close partnership with brand designers, art director, copywriter, marketing and other creative leads. The ideal candidate knows organic social channels inside-and-out possess strong layout and composition skills, has a keen eye for design and a master in typography. Must be a team player, strong communicator, self-starter and blue sky thinker. This role is a hybrid setup with 2 days remote and 3 days onsite in San Francisco, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with video and still brand photography to design posts that will engage the core audience
- Create GIFs and edit organic video
- Design innovative layouts with carefully crafted typography to enhance visual storytelling
- Brainstorm as a team and contribute new ideas and examples
- Conceptualize ideas quickly and effectively, translating concepts into visually appealing posts
- Work with performance data to create content that drives higher reach and engagement, and continue to push the boundaries of the creative
- Design within brand guidelines, but know how to push the aesthetic, where appropriate, into the organic social space. Partner closely with the broader team of brand designers to ensure brand standards and visual consistency across the customer journey
- Secondarily, there may be some print and digital work as it pertains to organic-led campaigns or influencer materials
- Highly in-tune and stays up to date with organic social trends and pop culture, specifically in women and girls fashion, sports, and influencers
- You know all organic social channels inside and out
- Expert in key editing tools within social media platforms for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and Snapchat
- Proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, Keynote
- Light video editing experience with a desire to learn even more
- Skilled in Adobe After Effects is desired
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate ideas and concepts
- Quick worker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with a passion for creating visually stunning designs
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Full-time freelance availability with the potential for long-term collaboration
- Local to the San Francisco Bay Area preferred for hybrid work arrangements, remote candidates with strong qualifications will also be considered
