Job description

We are looking to hire an experienced full charge bookkeeper to handle our company’s accounts. In this role you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounting duties for the company. This includes project income/cost tracking, invoicing customers, entering/paying vendor bills, processing payroll, reconciling bank statements, coordinating tax return prep with an outside CPA firm, etc.

This role is in office in Elkridge, MD

To ensure success as a full charge bookkeeper, you will have advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting systems, excellent project management skills, and a good eye for detail.

Full Charge Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

  • Managing the full cycle of accounting activities for the company
  • Processing accounts receivable, including job tracking, preparing invoices, often including Excel AIA pay applications.
  • Processing accounts payable, including job costing
  • Managing/processing payroll via Paychex/TruistPayroll
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the general ledger, including accruals and deferrals
  • Preparing quarterly financial statements.

Full Charge Bookkeeper Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, plus 5 years of experience, OR 10+ years accounting experience
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting software, including QuickBooks Pro.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Experience preparing financial statements
  • Experience with manufacturing and inventory preferred.
  • Experience with commercial construction subcontracting preferred.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills.

Salary commensurate with experience. Range = $65,000 - $90,000
