Job description

Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.


Our customer is looking for a Full-Stack Engineer on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote/week) in Milwaukee, WI. Flexible start times ranging from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or application development
  • Experience developing solutions using Agile methods with a focus on client needs
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with technical peers and business stakeholders
  • Ability to perform peer reviews on technical design and code quality
  • Solid understanding of system design patterns and architectural concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills


Technical Skills:

  • Full-stack development experience using modern web technologies
  • Strong working knowledge of React.js, including HTML5, CSS, functional components, hooks, and Redux
  • Backend development experience using Node.js (JavaScript and/or TypeScript) or Java Spring Boot
  • Experience with DevOps practices and Git-based workflows
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and DynamoDB preferred
  • Ability to communicate technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with Figma or other UX design tools preferred
  • TypeScript experience preferred
