Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Full-Stack Engineer on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is Hybrid (3 days in the office) Sunnyvale, CA 94043.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain both the frontend and backend of a new internal platform, from feature development through production.
- Build and maintain integrations between the platform and its underlying cloud and AI infrastructure.
- Partner with business teams to translate day-to-day workflows into working software, with some guidance from senior engineers.
- Implement secure authentication, access control, and data governance appropriate for sensitive business data.
- Contribute to and follow engineering best practices — testing, CI/CD, deployment, and observability.
- Iterate on features based on real usage and feedback, balancing speed with reliability.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on exposure to both frontend and backend systems
- Solid Python skills; experience with FastAPI or a comparable async Python web framework.
- Solid React + TypeScript experience - shipped features in a production environment.
- Familiarity with LLM/AI API integrations - agentic or tool-calling patterns are a plus.
- Experience with a major cloud provider (Azure preferred; AWS/GCP considered) - comfortable deploying and managing cloud resources.
- Working knowledge of OAuth 2.0 / OIDC authentication flows
- Ability to work with non-technical business stakeholders to clarify and shape requirements.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.
