Opportunity to work for an alternative investment firm that originates loans and invests in equities in enterprise software companies. Based in Austin, TX and founded in 2016, we have invested over $250 million in 60 companies. The firm’s senior investment professionals have decades of private capital markets experience as both investors and operators and are dedicated to developing talent and best practices for continued growth.
We are looking for a Fund Accountant to work in finance and operations. Candidates should be able to work in Austin (flexibility for hybrid work environment) and be self-motivated to work in a highly entrepreneurial growth-stage technology investment firm.
Responsibilities:
- Accounting and reporting for credit funds, structured equity investment entities and general partner entities
- Maintain financial statements and work papers based on a monthly close
- Accounts payable for all entities
- Work with external auditors and tax preparers to complete annual audits, tax returns and deliver K-1s to investors
- Support treasury management functions and transaction management - investment wires, records of material transactions and lender reporting
- Spreadsheet work including partner details schedules, income allocations, distribution projections and fund model inputs
- Capital calls tracking and investor confirmations
- Investor data, records, reports and portal management
- Maintain data for quarterly updates and investor communication letters and notices
- Respond to investor information inquiries
- New fund investor offerings and onboarding to accounting systems
- Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years experience in accounting or operations
- Proficient with QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, Excel spreadsheets and written communications
- Experience communicating with investors, investor data management and investor portal/CRM systems
- Prior work with partnership agreements and partner accounting
Pluses:
- CPA and/or CFA
- Advanced degree
- Experience with other general ledger systems
Initiatives:
- Take ownership of transition to QuickBooks Online
- Take ownership of Fund Model integration with QuickBooks transaction data
- Maintain Investments Summary in connection with loan administration application
- Build and document best practices
Compensation:
Salary and bonus based on experience level and time commitment.
