Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a new kind of gardening brand - one built for people who care about their plants and the planet. They make premium, biochar-based potting mixes that improve soil health, capture CO2, and help independent garden centers offer something better to their customers.

Their venture-backed, growing quickly, and already trusted by 1,000+ independent retailers and Target stores across the U.S.

💌 About This Role

This role is for someone who loves discovering local, independent garden centers, plant shops, and mom-and-pop retailers - and gets energy from reaching out, building friendly connections, and helping small businesses succeed.

You’ll spend your time exploring garden centers across the country (digitally), researching who they are, and thoughtfully reaching out via email to introduce the client. You’ll help busy shop owners discover a soil that performs better, tells a better story, and gives them a product their customers love to buy again and again.

This is high-touch outreach at scale - part local research, part outreach and relationship-building, and part friendly persistence with busy owners!

🌼 What You’ll Be Doing

  • Explore U.S. garden centers and nurseries using Google Maps, local searches, social reviews, etc.
  • Build and maintain a consistent rhythm of friendly outreach to hundreds of independent retailers each month
  • Write and refine personal-but-scalable outreach emails that feel human, not templated
  • Manage replies, sample requests, quick back-and-forth emails, and supportive follow-ups
  • Track and organize outreach using HubSpot (training provided if new to the tool)
  • Experiment with new tools for efficiency (email verifiers, sequences, templates, AI tools, etc) - always in service of better human connection, not spam
  • Share insights on what messaging resonates - you’ll help shape how Rosy shows up to small retailers everywhere

🧭 Who This Role Is Great For

  • You’ve worked in sales, outreach, retail buying, wholesale coordination, or SDR/BDR-style roles
  • You genuinely love independent shops and the people who run them
  • You’re energized by steady, thoughtful outreach - and you don’t mind polite persistence
  • You enjoy the hunt - finding good fits, reading between the lines of listings, noticing quality
  • You love plants, houseplants, gardening, or sustainability - or you’re excited to learn and connect with that world

🌿 Why Join Our Team

  • Be part of a small, mission-led team - your work directly expands access to better soil and supports small businesses
  • Flexible, part-time hours - designed to fit around life while still creating meaningful momentum
  • High autonomy & creativity - we value outcomes, not rigid scripts
  • Venture-backed with clear momentum - real traction, real product love, real growth ahead
  • Impact you can see - every new account is a real local store choosing a more sustainable path and capturing carbon with every sale

🌷 If This Sounds Like You…

We’d love to hear from you. Even if you haven’t worked in gardening before, if the idea of connecting with independent garden centers and helping them grow makes you light up - this could be a great fit. We’re excited to read your application!
