We are currently seeking a Global Controllership Specialist ready to work within the Global Controllership function. Candidates must live within a 90 mile radius of Chicago.
The Role:
The Global Controllership Specialist will work within the Global Controllership function with a series of responsibilities centered around integrating Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) reporting with financial reporting. They will support Senior Managers/Mangers within the U.S. GAAP Technical Accounting Team, as well as the CFO, Controller, Assistant Controller and Director of Accounting Policy and Transaction Support and collaborate with the Corporate Citizenship Reporting team to implement and support Integrated ESG Reporting.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Liaison with reporting data owners to document reporting processes.
- Assist with reporting process assessment and implementation of process changes.
- Assist with preparation of summaries of reporting assessments, risks and proposed changes for leadership.
- Monitor process change implementation and escalate issues for timely resolution.
- Assist with the preparation and review of ESG reporting disclosures, including coordination of internal support requests.
- Assist with satisfying audit requirements, including coordination of requests, for integrated ESG reporting.
- Assist in various ad hoc assignments (e.g. ESG reporting research/benchmarking, preparation of training and communication on ESG reporting, etc.).
Basic Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3 years of Finance experience, including public accounting experience or industry experience that includes responsibilities in reporting, internal controls and/or process improvement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA, Chartered Accountant or like designation preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of business, finance, and accounting fundamentals
- ESG Reporting; Process Improvement/Project Management; Internal Controls; SEC Reporting; Accounting & Reporting Research
- Professional Development Skills: Microsoft Office; Oral and Written Communication; Business Acumen; Innovation; Relationship Management; Project Management; Teamwork and Collaboration
Professional Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex work efforts
- Demonstrated ability to escalate important issues for resolution
- Demonstrated ability to be relevant and insightful during meetings with Manager and Senior Manager
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Flexibility to work overtime to meet required deadlines
- Demonstrated leadership in professional setting; either military or civilian
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration in a professional setting; either military or civilian
