About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-starter with a strategic mindset to join our team as the Global Merchandising Coordinator for the Kids & Baby categories. In this role, you will play a critical part in discovering, curating, and managing unique inventory on Etsy to be promoted through our global marketing channels and on the Etsy App. Your focus will be on creating collections of high-quality, trend-forward products that captivate parents, families, and gift-givers, contributing to exceptional online experiences.

This position combines creativity, data-driven decision making, and strategic thinking to identify standout sellers and products that cater to the Kids & Baby audience.

Responsibilities:

Inventory Discovery & Curation:
  • Proactively identify new and exciting Kids & Baby inventory on Etsy, including toys, clothing, accessories, nursery decor, and other relevant items based on strategic audience insights.
  • Strategically develop curated sets of high-quality products for featured collections, seasonal campaigns, and online curated experiences at marketable price points.
  • Collaborate with sellers to build unique, high-performing products that appeal to parents, families, and gift-givers.
  • Partner with Legal and Vetting teams to align on regulation risks for related inventory.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Translate and articulate the “why” behind your strategic decisions, with a clear path for how they align with priorities using internal and external insights and data.
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including category management, site merchandising, vetting and legal teams to execute curation successfully.
  • Communicate progress of work regularly and at key milestone moments.
Analytics and Insights:
  • Pair data analysis with merchandising decisions to ensure curated selections meet performance goals and resonate with target audiences.
  • Use metrics such as engagement, conversion rates, and customer feedback to refine product selections and optimize collections in the Kids & Baby categories.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of emerging trends in Kids & Baby products, including safety standards, popular themes, and seasonal must-haves.
  • Provide insights on product selection and merchandising opportunities to enhance merchandising effectiveness.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Think critically and strategically to align product curation with business goals, seasonal, value pricing and diversity opportunities.
  • Take ownership of projects, from ideation to execution, while ensuring timely delivery of curated inventory sets.
  • Drive continuous improvement by analyzing past performance and implementing innovative strategies

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of merchandising, product curation, or a related role, preferably e-commerce or the Kids & Baby market.
  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, taking initiative and driving product forward.
  • Strong understanding of Etsy’s platform and the unique qualities of handmade, vintage and creative products especially for children.
  • Demonstrated experience or curiosity in analytics and the ability to pair data insights with merchandising strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a passion for creativity, design, and discovering unique products for children and families
  • Effective prioritization and problem-solver with ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment.

Hours and Location:
  • Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week
  • Hybrid - 2 days onsite and 3 days remote/week in Brooklyn. NY.
