Job description

***The salary range for this position is $96.75 - $103.18 per hour.***

They support global industries in building & construction, agriculture, geospatial, natural resources and utilities, governments, transportation and others. Core technologies in positioning, modeling, connectivity and data analytics connect the digital and physical worlds to improve productivity, quality, safety, transparency and sustainability.

We are seeking a GPS Systems Engineer on a contract basis to help support our customer's business needs. The candidate in this role is responsible for the product and interface specifications, and the correct implementation of the system requirements by the receiver hardware, software, and mechanical subsystems.

What You’ll Do:

  • Subject Matter Expert working closely with customers to support the integration and use of the receivers
  • Generate supporting data for proposals
  • Align the product specification with the customer and program requirements
  • Work with internal teams to ensure the accuracy of the product specification
  • Manage the allocation of hardware, software, performance, and environmental requirements
  • Ensure the verification strategy and the engineering deliverables meet the requirements
  • Ensure that the deliverable system meets the design assurance and certification standards and that the implementation follows the product development process

Must Haves:

  • 7+ years experience in systems engineering following certification strategies:
    • Expertise with embedded system engineering
    • System specifications and interface control document (ICD) management
    • Requirements management, decomposition, flow down, and tracing
    • Project and schedule management
    • System verification and qualification
    • System-level perspective with command of hardware, software, and system design and development processes
  • Ability to establish confidence and rapport, clarify and align requirements expectations, prepare and present design review material, and support customer integrations
  • Configuration management (CM) and Quality Assurance (QA) discipline managing requirements-based development processes leading to product certification
  • Collaborative, team-oriented contributor with demonstrated ability to think outside the box to achieve goals and deliver results efficiently
  • Strong communication, organization, planning, and documentation skills

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent required
  • A Master's Degree preferred

Hours & Location:

  • M-F, 40 hours/week. This role will be onsite at our Customer’s Sunnyvale, CA location. There is no remote capability for this role.
