Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, an organization building critical partnerships, products and services for sustainable community growth and advancement. Our client is seeking an experienced Grant Writer and Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of securing funding for female, minority-owned, and small businesses in the technology sector. This role involves researching grant opportunities, writing compelling grant proposals, and managing the grant application process from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research & Identification
    • Identify and research grant opportunities from government agencies, private foundations, and other funding sources relevant to the client's mission.
    • Stay updated on trends and changes in grant funding related to technology entrepreneurship.
  • Grant Writing
    • Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals that align with funding requirements and organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and data for proposals.
  • Grant Management
    • Manage the entire grant application process, including timelines, budgets, and compliance requirements.
    • Monitor grant-funded projects to ensure adherence to grant agreements and performance metrics.
    • Prepare and submit required reports to funding bodies in a timely manner.
  • Relationship Building
    • Establish and maintain relationships with grantors, donors, and partners.
    • Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and networking events related to funding opportunities.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain accurate records of all grant activities, proposals, and reports.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on grant statuses and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grant writing and management.
    • Demonstrated success in securing grants for female, minority-owned, and small businesses in the tech industry.
    • Familiarity with grant application processes for federal, state, and private funding sources.
  • Skills
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong research and analytical abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
    • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Knowledge of the tech industry and challenges faced by minority entrepreneurs.
