The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, one of the country's most dynamic, progressive voluntary health organizations.

The Foundation, Inc is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to finding the cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and improving the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. We fund cutting-edge studies at major medical institutions, nurture investigators at the early stages of their careers, and finance underdeveloped areas of research. In addition, our educational workshops and programs, along with our scientific journal, Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, enable medical professionals to keep pace with this rapidly growing field. Location: National headquarters in midtown New York City – Option for fully remote working for qualified candidates.


Position Summary:

The Grants Financial Analyst, plays a critical role in the Foundation’s annual $30 million funding for research in IBD. The Grants Financial Analyst will develop and foster strategic relationships with applicants, scientists and awarded institutions. The Grants Financial Analyst will work closely with the Research Department’s grants team to communicate well with Finance and other departments across the Foundation. Attention to detail, multi-tasking and time management are critical to success in this position.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Complete new vendor registration form upon contract execution
  • Ensure timely review, approval and payment of invoices
  • Monitor and reconcile invoice payments against Department's accounts
  • Monitor and reconcile award disbursements against Department's financial records
  • File related documents accurately and reliably
  • Follow-up and assist with internal auditing of individual awards (reporting, animal and human subject compliance and etc.)
  • Support the data integrity of post award data for return on investment and impact reporting
  • Review financial spreadsheets and databases for accuracy and thoroughness, and inform supervisors on issues that warrant attention
  • Support day-to-day transactions, as required
  • Assist the Associate Director of Grant and Contracts to audit Post-Award grant deliverables and other requirements
  • Assist the Associate Director on Post-Award reporting and grants module data accuracy
  • Support the Grants team in Pre-Award support, when needed All other tasks as needed (5-10% of time)
  • Support all other needs, as required

Qualifications:

  • Customer Service oriented
  • Experience in a grant-giving Foundation or Hospital Finance
  • The ability to work in a team-oriented environment Work experience as a Finance Assistant or similar role
  • Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures Organized and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economic desirable
