Job description
Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for a Graphic Designer on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Milwaukee, WI.
Responsibilities:
- Create on-brand visual materials that support organizational messaging and project objectives under the guidance of the Assistant Director.
- Design and produce graphics for print, digital, social, web, and presentation formats.
- Contribute ideas, mood boards, and visual directions during concept development in alignment with direction from the Assistant Director.
- Execute design solutions in accordance with established brand standards, workflows, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with marketing, communications, and creative partners to deliver high-quality visual assets.
- Manage assigned projects from initial concept through final production while keeping the Assistant Director informed of progress, timelines, and resource needs.
- Prepare accurate, production-ready files for both print and digital deliverables.
- Conduct quality-control checks to ensure brand accuracy, visual consistency, and technical precision.
- Maintain current proficiency in design tools, software, and production methods.
- Support multimedia and environmental design tasks, including simple motion graphics, video asset preparation, or display layouts.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining design files, asset libraries, and project archives.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, file management, and production processes and share recommendations with the Assistant Director.
- Communicate clearly with stakeholders to understand project needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Support the Assistant Director and team members on larger or more complex creative initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Three to five years of experience in graphic or visual design within an in-house, agency, or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage low- to mid-complexity assignments.
- Strong portfolio showcasing skills in layout, typography, branding, and multi-channel design across print and digital media.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Familiarity with Cvent.
- Ability to interpret creative direction and feedback and translate it into effective visual solutions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to present work confidently and collaborate effectively with external vendors.
- Working knowledge of preparing production-ready files for print, digital, and multimedia outputs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy, consistency, and overall design quality.
- Openness to learning new tools, technologies, and design trends.
- Experience with basic motion graphics, environmental/display design, or video asset preparation is a plus.
- Ability to problem-solve creatively and take initiative while knowing when to seek guidance.
- Experience collaborating with external vendors or production teams.
