The Mom Project is excited to support Etsy with their search for a contract Group Marketing Manager!

About The Team

The Product Marketing team at Etsy drives high value actions that enable customer growth and loyalty by developing the story and go-to-market strategy for what we’re building. The Product Marketing team supports a wide range of teams across Etsy to bring new customer experiences, products, and features to life. The Buyer Experience and Seller Experience Product Marketing team's mission is to foster growth in our dual-sided marketplace by: 1) driving high-value actions among sellers to help them grow their shops, 2) optimizing the marketplace to make it easier and more seamless for buyers to purchase, and 3) being the connective tissue between buying and selling experiences to continuously power that flywheel on Etsy.

We’re looking for a Group Product Marketing Manager who is an excellent leader, collaborator and communicator, is passionate about customer experience, and who has expertise leading a team with a wide and complex remit. This position reports into the Head of Global Product Marketing.

  • Product Marketing partners closely and constantly with cross-functional partners in product management, research, analytics, brand, and within marketing.
  • You’ll lead a team while working closely with partners to define strategies, determine market fit and positioning for products and features, and bring products and features to market in a way that clearly communicates them and builds excitement about Etsy.

What does the day-to-day look like?

  • Help to define and shape the strategic product roadmap to support a strong cohesive customer narrative across multiple initiatives.
  • Serve as a key collaborator across senior leaders in Seller Experience product teams, Buyer Experience product teams, and marketing teams.
  • Lead a team of 2 high performing product marketing managers and take on discrete tracks of work to bring products and features to market.
  • Help to define the target audience, craft clear positioning statements and clearly articulate and communicate Etsy’s unique value proposition for both buyers and sellers.
  • Develop and align on-site and off-site marketing plans to communicate features and experiences in collaboration with marketing leaders.
  • Strongly advocate for customer experiences.

Requirements
Ideally you’ll bring:

  • 8+ years of marketing, product marketing, and/or consulting experience.
  • Have led a team and been recognized as a supportive leader who has demonstrated an ability to hire, develop, and grow talented teams.
  • Strong track record of bringing complex products to market for business and consumer audiences.
  • Experience using data to inform strategies and tell a strong narrative.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams while maintaining great relationships.
  • Creative with a passion for solving complex problems.
  • Track record of driving strong growth and results through marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Thrive in an independent, high energy environment where tasks, priorities, and projects change rapidly.
  • Passionate about Etsy’s mission and are brimming with ideas on how we could do it better.
  • You know your market, customers, and competition better than anyone, and you’re strong at integrating this information into your growth strategies.
Location and Hours
  • 100% Remote
  • 40 hrs/week, standard EST schedule
  • Open to NYC/Brooklyn based candidates who are able to work on-site 1-2x/week
