Job description

Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented, independent contractor to support medical claims submission and billing workflows. This role is process-driven and requires someone who can accurately follow a defined Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), navigate multiple web-based systems, and maintain clean documentation and tracking. No experience is required, we will train you.


Key Responsibilities

  • Review and manage claims using internal tracking spreadsheets (Google Sheets)
  • Navigate EHR platform to locate patient records, workflows, and signed chart notes
  • Create and submit healthcare claims for eligible Dates of Service
  • Verify and confirm key patient, provider, and visit information
  • Update internal tracking spreadsheets with submission dates and notes
  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation and flag issues when SOP conditions are not met


Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional attention to detail – able to consistently catch small errors across data, codes, and forms
  • Relatively tech-savvy – comfortable working in Web-based EHR systems, Google Sheets / spreadsheets with filters, and other websites
  • Independent and self-directed – able to follow SOPs without constant supervision
  • Strong ability to follow step-by-step processes exactly as written
  • Comfortable handling repetitive, accuracy-critical work
  • Basic understanding of medical billing concepts (CMS 1500, CPT, DX, modifiers) preferred but not needed


Contractor Expectations

  • Able to meet submission timelines
  • Communicates clearly when issues, discrepancies, or uncertainties arise
  • Adheres strictly to HIPAA and patient data privacy standards
  • Willing to document edge cases or exceptions for clinic follow-up


Work Arrangement
