*This is a remote role, but MUST reside in the state of California in order to be considered, as knowledge of state labor laws an regulations will be essential.
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Part-Time HR Manager to oversee and manage human resources activities for multiple franchisees in California. This unique role involves working with different franchise locations to ensure HR processes are consistent, effective, and compliant with state and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will be experienced in all aspects of human resources management and capable of balancing multiple priorities across various locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and Staffing:
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates.
- Coordinate the hiring process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Manage part-time, full-time, and temporary staffing needs across multiple franchise locations.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies.
- Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication and employee engagement.
- Compliance and Legal:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures as necessary.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
- Performance Management:
- Oversee performance appraisal processes, including setting performance standards and providing feedback.
- Work with franchise managers to identify and address performance issues.
- Develop and implement employee development and training programs.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct safety training and develop emergency response plans.
- HR Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Generate and analyze HR reports to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of California labor laws and regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across various locations.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- PHR/SPHR certification is a plus.
