Our Customer is a tech real-estate marketplace company with a portfolio of the largest and most vibrant real estate and home-related brands on the web and mobile. The company’s brands focus on all stages of the home lifecycle: renting, buying, selling, financing and home improvement. They are committed to empowering consumers with unparalleled data, inspiration and knowledge around homes, and connecting them with the right local professionals to help.

We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Handle employee relations matters with sound judgment, consistency, and compliance with company policies and employment laws.
  • Conduct thorough and objective employee investigations and appropriately document findings.
  • Partner with managers on corrective actions, coaching conversations, and performance improvement processes.
  • Serve as a primary HR resource for first-line and second-line managers on employee and people-related matters.
  • Provide guidance to managers on feedback delivery, attendance concerns, conduct issues, team dynamics, and performance management.
  • Support managers in building confidence and consistency in people leadership practices.
  • Support the full employee performance management cycle, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, year-end calibrations, and performance improvement plans.
  • Ensure managers conduct timely, clear, and effective performance conversations with employees.
  • Manage leave of absence processes, accommodation requests, and return-to-work planning in partnership with HR Operations teams.
  • Maintain accurate employee and HR data within Workday and ensure the timely completion of administrative processes.
  • Serve as an approachable point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
  • Identify employee trends and recurring concerns to support broader HR planning initiatives.
  • Apply HR policies consistently and escalate complex or high-risk situations appropriately.
  • Stay informed on employment law fundamentals and identify potential compliance risks for escalation to senior HR or Employee Relations teams.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, Employee Relations, HR Operations, or related HR functions.
  • Experience supporting employee relations investigations and case management.
  • Experience coaching and advising managers on employee performance, conduct, and workplace issues.
  • Experience supporting performance management processes and employee development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with leave of absence administration, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
  • Experience maintaining HR data and administrative processes within HRIS systems such as Workday.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment law fundamentals.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in sensitive situations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with frontline and mid-level managers across teams.
