Job description
Our Customer is a consumer financial services company headquartered in Connecticut. The company offers consumer financing products, including credit, promotional financing and loyalty programs, installment lending to industries, and FDIC-insured consumer savings products through the consumer bank, its wholly owned online bank subsidiary.
We are seeking an IAM Security Engineer on a contract basis to support our customer’s ongoing business needs. This role is 100% remote, East Coast preferred.
The IAM Security Engineer will support Highly Privileged Access (HPA) logging and monitoring within the Identity and Access Management Programs organization. The role involves onboarding applications to an enterprise monitoring framework, assessing logging capabilities, and enabling Splunk-based monitoring solutions. This engineer will collaborate closely with technology teams and provide reporting and insights to senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Build dashboards and queries in Splunk Cloud to analyze event patterns and present meaningful insights.
- Standardize metrics and reporting for HPA monitoring to improve operational oversight.
- Interview application teams to identify and assess logging capabilities.
- Analyze application logs to determine eligibility and readiness for Splunk onboarding.
- Organize, prioritize, and communicate program deliverables, timelines, and status updates to senior leadership.
- Identify program risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of total work experience, including at least 1 year in IAM engineering, security architecture, or adjacent InfoSec domains such as data protection or security engineering. (In lieu of a degree: 5+ years relevant experience)
- Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience with IAM technologies.
- Deep understanding of Splunk Cloud and Splunk Processing Language (SPL).
- Experience working in cloud environments, particularly PaaS platforms.
- Working knowledge of core IAM concepts, including authentication, authorization, and RBAC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working within Agile methodologies and tools, including Jira and Jira Align.
