Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

Our Customer is seeking an In-Field Sales Development Representative on a contract basis to support their business needs.

This role is open ONLY to candidates based in any of the following locations (or within approximately 50 miles): Auburn, AL, East Peoria, IL, Springfield, IL, Gainesville, TX, and Silverthorne, CO.

Compensation structure: Hourly rate plus a variable compensation structure tied to a monthly point-based quota. Meetings held earn 2 points and closed deals earn 3 points, with the opportunity to earn a $1,750 payout upon achieving 100% of the monthly goal.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit a high volume of restaurant prospects within the assigned territory each week, introducing the platform and securing qualified meetings for the Outside Sales team
  • Identify owners or key decision makers at each location and quickly build trust through short, in-person conversations
  • Deliver a clear value proposition on how the platform can help restaurants grow orders, reach new customers, and optimize operations
  • Log visits, conversations, and meeting outcomes in Salesforce and other sales tools with strong attention to detail
  • Partner closely with Outside Account Executives to align on target accounts, ideal customer profiles, and follow-up plans
  • Manage and prioritize daily routes to maximize quality visits and meetings booked
  • Follow up with merchants via phone, text, and email after visits to confirm meetings and maintain engagement
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly targets related to meetings set, meetings held, and revenue impact
  • Gather and share merchant feedback to support the continuous improvement of sales strategies and products

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Energized by in-person selling and engaging with new people throughout the day
  • Resilient and able to maintain momentum in a fast-paced, high-rejection environment
  • Comfortable working independently in the field while managing schedules and performance goals
  • Competitive, goal-oriented, and motivated by performance-based incentives
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Coachable with a strong desire to build a long-term career in sales
  • 1+ year of experience in outbound sales, canvassing, field marketing, or other customer-facing roles focused on driving business growth or sign-ups
  • Experience in sales, hospitality, retail, service industry, or similar environments
  • Comfortable conducting high-volume, short, in-person conversations daily
  • Ability to learn and clearly articulate the company’s value proposition
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory
  • Willingness to work restaurant-friendly hours, including some early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends
  • Ability to remain on one's feet for extended periods while visiting merchants
  • Ability to drive frequently within the assigned territory
  • Ability to carry light materials such as flyers, one-pagers, or tablets during visits

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in restaurant, food and beverage, or local business environments
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement platforms such as Salesforce or Outreach
