Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

We are seeking an In-Person Sales Development Representative on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is on-site in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Visit a high volume of restaurant prospects within an assigned territory to introduce the platform and secure qualified meetings for outside account executives
  • Identify owners or key decision-makers at each location and build trust through short, in-person conversations
  • Deliver a clear, compelling pitch on how the platform helps restaurants grow orders, reach new customers, and improve operations
  • Log all visits, conversations, and meeting outcomes accurately in CRM and sales tools
  • Partner closely with outside account executives to align on target accounts, ideal customer profiles, and follow-up strategies
  • Plan and manage daily routes to maximize quality visits and meetings booked
  • Follow up with merchants via phone, text, and email to confirm meetings and maintain engagement
  • Meet and exceed weekly and monthly targets related to meetings set, meetings held, and revenue impact
  • Act as a local market representative by sharing merchant feedback to help improve messaging, processes, and product offerings

Skills and Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in outbound sales, canvassing, field marketing, or other customer-facing roles focused on new business or sign-ups
  • Experience in sales, hospitality, retail, service, or similar customer-facing environments
  • Comfort with high-volume, short, in-person conversations on a daily basis
  • Ability to clearly and confidently learn and communicate a value proposition
  • Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools, such as Salesforce or similar platforms preferred
  • Restaurant, food and beverage, or local business experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory
  • Willingness to work restaurant-friendly hours, including early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in the field while effectively managing time and priorities
  • Resilience in handling rejection and maintaining momentum
  • Competitive, goal-oriented mindset with motivation driven by performance-based targets
  • Organized approach to territory management and follow-ups
  • Coachable attitude with openness to feedback and interest in building a long-term sales career
  • Ability to remain on feet for extended periods while visiting merchant locations
  • Ability to drive frequently within the assigned territory
  • Ability to carry light materials such as flyers, one-pagers, or a tablet during visits
