Job description
Our Customer is an American computer and consumer electronics company famous for creating phones and computers. As one of the largest companies globally with a market cap of over 2 trillion dollars, it is a major leader in the space. Although this company was founded in 1976 it has transformed how we connect and communicate worldwide.
Our Customer is seeking an Instructional Designer on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days onsite and 2 days remote/week) in Austin, TX.
This role involves designing and developing self-guided and instructor-led learning experiences for global audiences is a multifaceted endeavor. It requires demonstrating and utilizing consultation skills, conducting thorough needs analysis, and exhibiting exceptional time management and course development skills. The ultimate goal is to craft engaging and effective educational programs.
With experience in designing and developing blended-learning solutions, including multi-media scripts and action learning experiences, the ability to create varied and impactful learning environments is essential. This involves working collaboratively with project teams, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to ensure alignment and quality. Effective communication and teamwork are crucial for success.
The required skill set includes technical writing, curriculum and course development, and the ability to work independently with minimal direction. Furthermore, experience in writing content for a variety of audiences ensures that the learning materials are accessible and relevant. This comprehensive approach ensures the creation of high-quality learning experiences.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience
- 2+ year’s experience in designing and developing learning materials
- Ability to design effective and engaging learning solutions
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Knowledge and understanding of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies for classroom based, self-guided and virtual training
- High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues
- Ability to face complex problems and identify creative solutions
- Project-management skills with superb attention to detail and deadlines.
- Knowledge of learning technologies (LMS, LCMS, etc.) and ability to master new technologies quickly
- Strong writing and communications skills, as well as excellent presentation skills
- Ability to work effectively with multi-functional teams and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strategic thinker who can be inventive, creative, and committed to results
