Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking an Senior Instructional Designer – L&D (LMS, eLearning) on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid (3 days on-site and 2 days remote/week) in Sunnyvale, CA, or Peachtree Corners, GA.
This role is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing engaging learning programs and courses that support employee development, leadership development, and compliance training across the organization. This role also manages the administration of the learning and development (L&D) platform to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop learning solutions, including eLearning, instructor-led, blended, and virtual programs
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to identify learning needs and define objectives
- Apply adult learning principles and instructional design best practices to create effective training content
- Develop assessments and evaluation tools to measure learning outcomes and program effectiveness
- Manage day-to-day administration of learning platforms, including course setup, user management, reporting, and troubleshooting
- Ensure learning content is current, accessible, and aligned with organizational and compliance standards
- Monitor platform analytics to assess engagement and recommend improvements
- Coordinate with internal teams to implement and deploy content across multiple learning platforms
- Support content translation and conduct user acceptance testing for learning programs
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional projects to launch new learning initiatives
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications
- Gather feedback from learners and stakeholders to continuously improve training programs
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Performance Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or corporate learning
- Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and instructional designers to develop content
- Experience managing review cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and assessment best practices
- Experience using instructional design tools, processes, and templates
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS)
- Proficiency with Articulate Storyline, Rise, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, or similar tools
Hourly Rate:
- Peachtree Corners, GA: $85/hour
- Sunnyvale, CA: $102/hour
