Job description

The Firm's growing and dynamic insurance practice has an opportunity for an Insurance Coverage & Litigation Associate with a minimum of four years of coverage experience to join our New York, NY office. Responsibilities will include drafting coverage opinions, reviewing and analyzing claim documents, reviewing and assessing policy language, litigating declaratory judgment and bad faith actions in New York and many other jurisdictions, and providing a wide range of insurance coverage services to our clients including updating policy language. The position offers flexibility to work remotely or in the office.

Skills and Educational Requirements

  • JD from an ABA-Approved law school, with excellent academic credentials
  • Minimum of four years of solid experience handling coverage matters and litigating declaratory judgment actions
  • Experience providing coverage assessments to clients, including experience with private equity, fiduciary, errors and omissions, D&O, and other professional liability policies as well as commercial general liability and property policies
  • Ability to handle declaratory judgment and bad faith litigations from inception to trial, including preparation of pleadings and briefs, managing discovery and depositions, and conducting legal research, analysis, and writing
  • Experience with both state and federal court proceedings
  • Current NY Bar admission in good standing is required

  • Base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience
