Our Customer is a Sunnyvale, California-based software, hardware, and services technology company. We are seeking an Internal Communications Lead on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is 100% remote.
This role will be instrumental in communicating to activate a 12,000-person global organization by consulting, planning, creating and implementing communications strategies and plans. Your role is to keep the company informed, help build understanding of important messages and provide tools to extend the messages in their departments.
You are an innovative problem solver who brings experience and expertise to navigate ambiguity and complexity to develop and deliver strategic business communications. You take initiative and responsibility for creating and executing comprehensive communications programs that deliver and reinforce consistent messaging to employees worldwide through multiple channels. You are a strategic, critical thinker with a bias toward execution. And you are willing to roll up your sleeves to support the team and get the work done.
Responsibilities:
- Consult across businesses, functions, and region communicators at all levels to ensure visibility, engagement, and coordination of communications as needed
- Drive intranet engagement through ongoing communication and engagement activities designed to grow participation and adoption
- Manage internal editorial calendar to drive consistency, visibility and effective communication flow to employees in alignment with communication team members
- Develop and author a variety of communication deliverables, including presentations, announcements, videos, articles, etc to be delivered across a variety of communications channels
- Design and implement measurement methods and data-based insights to inform strategy and plans as needed to achieve business results
- Develop communications strategies and plans to support organizational change
- Engage confidently with leaders at all levels of the organization to advise and counsel on appropriate communication strategies.
- Contribute experience and expertise in developing processes and norms that help mature the communications function and the team.
- Support change management efforts with proactive stakeholder and targeted change communications that maintain voice and consistency.
- Proactively collaborate with the team where needed to deliver successful communication outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field
- 7+ years of experience in internal communications strategy and planning
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Creative and critical thinking needed to develop communication strategies
- Experience developing and driving internal communications strategies to drive change
- Ability to interpret internal and external factors to recommend communications strategies to support desired outcomes and goals.
- Courage to navigate complexity and collaborate with others who may have different perspectives to achieve the best outcomes.
- Ability to work proactively and independently while collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Confidence and comfort in advising leaders and teams on communications strategies and plans
- Exceptional project and time management skills
- Experience in global communications and across multiple audience segments
