We are looking for an HR Relations Partner on a contract basis who can help support our client’s business needs. This role is 100% remote in Pacific Standard hours.

The ideal candidate will be a key member of the Internal Community Relations team and will support meaningful and respectful connections between employees. This person will provide hands-on and strategic support to the employees through workplace communication and conflict issues to cultivate a respectful and inclusive culture. The ideal candidate will have stellar communications skills, experience managing projects, outstanding judgment and the ability to recognize and surface different types of risk. The ideal candidate will also have experience coaching, and bringing creative and effective ideas to a growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Foster productive and inclusive connections within the internal community with authenticity, empathy and transparency
  • Respond to reported community concerns quickly, with empathy and consistency
  • Educate and encourage productive employee discourse in the appropriate Workplace groups and forums
  • Provide direction, guidance, thought partnership, and coaching to all levels of the organization
  • Integrate and partner with HR, Legal, Employee Relations and Communications colleagues to coach and implement creative solutions to mitigate risk and escalations across different, states, countries, and regions
  • Mitigate and respond to high conflict events to prevent business disruptions
  • Participate and lead projects as an integral member of the extended HR community
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 8+ years experience in an Employee Relations, HR, Communications, Community Management, or related roles/fields
  • Experience developing and enforcing HR policies
  • Demonstrated solid judgment and experience assessing personnel and communications risk
  • Communication and critical thinking skills
  • Demonstrated empathy and experience driving inclusion work
  • Project management and change management experience
  • Consulting, coaching and facilitation skills
  • Ability to provide after-hours support in times of high conflict events
  • Experience in managing an HR policy fairly and consistently (assessing concerns against the policy, assessing precedent, considering appropriate outcome to address violations, etc.)
  • Knowledge of employment law, and experience addressing complex HR matters in a way that mitigates risk
  • Experience in coaching / delivering feedback effectively and efficiently
  • Interest in/knowledge of geopolitics and current events
  • Willingness to roll up sleeves and tackle a diverse array of work (i.e. not every single matter you'll work on is super complex, but must be approached with high level of care)
  • Ability to balance tactical (responding to queue, coaching employees in sometimes difficult settings) with strategic work (policy development, influencing partners, collaboration)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Knowledge in project planning methodologies
  • Experience helping global and/or matrixed organizations scale
  • Experience using data to identify insights that drive action
