Intuit Again: Front-End Developer

But it doesn’t have to be. The Intuit Again returnship program is designed to be a pathway into a full-time career allowing you to work on a team to refresh your skills and apply your newly learned skills in a supportive, structured 16-week program. The program is supported by a dedicated program team comprising of leaders, program managers and fellow returnees.

Job description
The Mom Project is thrilled to partner with “Intuit Again”, a return to work program at Intuit for professionals returning to the workforce after taking time off for caregiving. If selected, you’ll receive 16 weeks of paid employment doing work you love for one of the world’s most innovative companies to help powering prosperity around the world! You’ll have the chance to update your skills, add new experience to your resume, and make new professional connections.
After the 16 weeks of employment, there will be an opportunity for full time offer. The program is open to anyone who has at least five (5) years of professional experience and have been out of the full-time paid workforce for at least eighteen (18) months to focus on caregiving. Come join us as Front-End Developer building robust, intuitive, feature rich applications for our valued customers. You will be developing tools that enable our customers to obtain information, perform back office tasks, monitor customer status, and service our customers real time through API’s that span across Intuit’s enterprise systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and maintain responsive web applications providing awesome user experiences in desktop and mobile devices
- Hands-on development. Write highest quality code with utmost attention to scalability and performance.
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QE/QA and other Intuit teams and business units to define, prioritize, sequence and scope business and functional requirements and drive results forward for Intuit
- Accurately scope effort, identify risks and clearly communicate trade-offs with team members and other stakeholders
- Stay aware of industry trends and make technology choices and strategic decisions. Subject matter expert on web technologies
- Mentor engineers on technology, process, people, and product skills
- Ship high quality products and features with an end-to-end mindset from conception to delivery and production support, owning specifications, quality, release deployments and monitoring of production health
Qualifications:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in computer science or a related technical field or comparable experience
- 5+ years Java experience
- Web Development experience (HTML, CSS, Java Script)
- Object oriented design and development experience
- Ability to read and analyze existing code
- Experience with ORM technologies such as Hibernate, Relational Databases, SQL
- Strong written, verbal, and collaboration skills
- Self starter with strong work ethic with a passion for problem-solving
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies
- Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience in any of the following a plus: Rest, JQuery, Backbone, Grunt, Browser development tools, UI Testing frameworks, Linux
- Experience in AWS a bonus
