Job description
Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for an Investment Accountant on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Milwaukee, WI.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general financial accounting tasks related to investments
- Ensure that all financial activity related to the investment portfolios is accounted for in the general ledger.
- Monitor the financial results of the investments and prepare financial and compliance reports, analyses, and disclosures to meet all reporting requirements.
- Post entries for alternative investments, particularly limited partnerships
- Ensure accuracy and completeness in investment-related postings and reconciliations
- Support day-to-day accounting operations while other team members are engaged in system implementation
- Adapt quickly to internal systems; prior experience with specific platforms is not required, but the ability to learn quickly is essential
Qualifications
- Senior-level accounting experience, ideally aligned with a P3 classification
- Strong background in investment accounting, with a specific focus on limited partnerships
- Experience with alternative investment postings and general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to quickly learn new accounting systems and tools
- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently under time constraints
