Our Customer is an American financial services mutual organization based in Milwaukee. The financial security company provides consultation on wealth and asset income protection, education planning, retirement planning, investment advisory services, financial planning trust and private client services, estate planning and business planning. Its products include life insurance, permanent life insurance, disability income, and long-term care insurance; annuities; investments; and investment advisory products and services.
Our customer is looking for an Investment Operations Senior Specialist on a contract basis to help support their ongoing business needs. This role is on-site in Milwaukee, WI.
Responsibilities:
- Execute accurate and efficient investment transactions across multiple asset classes, including fixed income, equities, derivatives, foreign securities, private placements, real estate equity, and mortgage loans
- Coordinate with bank representatives, brokers, traders, and front-office teams to ensure timely trade settlement
- Respond to inquiries related to investment holdings and trading activity
- Maintain investment data for complex security types across multiple systems
- Perform reconciliations and collaborate with business partners to ensure data accuracy
- Ensure timely and accurate investment positions, commitment updates, and key investment data attributes
- Investigate and resolve cash receivable and payable exceptions
- Analyze investment holdings, trading activity, and related initiatives when requested by business partners
- Train new team members and serve as a technical resource for assigned investments and procedures
- Monitor industry changes and developments impacting investment processing procedures
- Support the development and implementation of business process improvements, workflows, and operational initiatives
- Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, and project initiatives
- Interpret and analyze legal documents to ensure adherence to contractual terms and amendments
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Management, Real Estate, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 or more years of investment operations or related financial services experience preferred
- Knowledge of investment asset classes and transaction processing
- Experience working with investment operations and accounting systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and resolve moderately complex operational issues
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners
- Ability to juggle multiple demanding tasks simultaneously and with accuracy
