We are seeking an IT Business Analyst on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, and candidates in other time zones are welcome to apply as long as they are able to work Eastern Standard Time hours.



Responsibilities:

  • Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements with a focus on finance and accounting functions, including GL, AP, and AR
  • Translate finance and accounting needs into system and functional requirements
  • Research user requirements, costs, and benefits to support demand management and business case documentation
  • Analyze current business processes to identify gaps, improvements, and standardization opportunities aligned with GAAP principles
  • Document business processes, workflows, and system requirements
  • Analyze system factors, including data flows, integrations, input/output requirements, and system dependencies
  • Evaluate the impact of system and process changes across the organization
  • Support ERP configuration, integrations, and data mapping in a hands-on capacity
  • Develop configuration workbooks and obtain approvals from stakeholders
  • Document requirements and processes using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with stakeholders across multiple levels, including leadership
  • Define and execute test cases, support validation, and participate in testing cycles
  • Provide post-go-live support, including hypercare, defect triage, and third-level support
  • Conduct system demonstrations and support training initiatives
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across finance and other business areas
  • Support the standardization of finance processes across business units
  • Participate in system enhancements, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3–5+ years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or finance-focused roles
  • Strong finance and accounting knowledge, including GAAP, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost, and revenue concepts
  • Experience gathering, documenting, and validating requirements in software implementation environments
  • Experience working with ERP systems; Sage X3 experience a plus
  • Strong understanding of data mapping and system integrations
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle methodologies
  • Proficiency in tools such as JIRA and Confluence
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, delivery-driven environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting ERP implementations or system migrations
  • Familiarity with Sage X3
  • Experience in business process design or change management initiatives
  • Experience working across multiple functional domains
