Our Customer is seeking an IT Software Analyst on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is 100% remote.


This role will be responsible for managing software licenses, monitoring usage and compliance, supporting audits and renewals, and partnering with internal stakeholders and software vendors to ensure effective lifecycle management of software assets across the organization.


The ideal candidate has strong experience in enterprise Software Asset Management, SaaS subscription management, and license compliance in complex IT environments.



Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date software license inventory across enterprise systems
  • Monitor software usage and reconcile license entitlements to ensure compliance
  • Support internal and external software audits, including preparation, documentation, and reporting
  • Assist with annual renewals by analyzing license positions and identifying optimization opportunities
  • Respond to software procurement inquiries and support purchase planning activities
  • Maintain documentation related to procurement, deployment, renewals, and contract lifecycle management
  • Interface with software vendors to address licensing, compliance, and subscription matters
  • Generate reports on software inventory, compliance status, risk exposure, and cost optimization
  • Conduct user attestation surveys and support software governance initiatives
  • Manage Software Asset Management services in alignment with defined service scope and expectations
  • Ensure license records, compliance tracking, and contract documentation are accurate and current
  • Deliver audit support and reporting within defined timelines
  • Identify opportunities for license optimization, reclamation, and cost savings
  • Manage inactive users and mitigate licensing risks


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in Software Asset Management within an enterprise IT environment
  • Strong knowledge of software discovery, inventory, and normalization processes
  • Experience reconciling software licenses against entitlements to determine compliance
  • Understanding of licensing models, including user-based, device-based, subscription-based, and core/processor-based licensing
  • Experience managing SaaS and cloud software subscriptions
  • Ability to analyze contracts, license agreements, and purchase records
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills related to software inventory and compliance
  • Experience working with SAM tools; Oomnitza preferred
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management tools such as Ironclad
  • Proficiency with Jira for ticketing and project management
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools, including Docs and Sheets
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with IT, Procurement, Finance, and vendors
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with major software vendors such as Microsoft, Adobe, and VMware
  • Experience supporting software audits and resolving compliance gaps
  • Familiarity with user attestation processes and identity governance systems, such as Okta
  • Experience in identifying cost optimization and license reclamation opportunities
