Job description

Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.

Our Customer is seeking a highly skilled contract Java Developer to support their business needs. This role is a hybrid setup (4 days onsite and 1 day remote) in Sunnyvale, CA.

This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale applications using Java, Spring Boot, and MSSQL Server. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Java, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience with Spring Boot and MSSQL Server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based applications using Spring Boot
  • Develop and maintain database schema, stored procedures, and queries using MSSQL Server
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery
  • Participate in code reviews, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and new versions of Java, Spring Boot, and MSSQL Server


Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in Java development
  • Strong understanding of Java fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
  • Experience with Spring Boot, including dependency injection, AOP, and MVC
  • Proficiency in MSSQL Server, including database design, querying, and performance optimization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and resolve complex technical issues
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred:
  • Experience with agile development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools, such as GitLab CI or Docker
  • Certification in Java, Spring Boot, or MSSQL Server
  • Top Skills: Java, Springboot, MSSQL Server, Liferay Portal (optional)
