Job description

Our Customer is a leading global, diversified information, services and media company with more than 360 businesses. Its major interests include various financial services, medical information and services businesses, and lastly, ownership in cable television networks such as A&E, HISTORY, Lifetime and ESPN; 33 television stations; 24 daily and 52 weekly newspapers; digital services businesses; and nearly 250 magazines around the world.


Our Customer is seeking a Junior Project Manager on a contract basis to help support their business needs. This role is remote in NYC.



Responsibilities:


Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with senior project managers to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Assist in creating project timelines, budgets, and schedules.
  • Delegate tasks and allocate resources effectively.
  • Create and assign Jira issue types for project members.
  • Scheduling of meetings

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Document project milestones, risks, and issues.
  • Prepare regular progress reports for clients and management.
  • Update Confluence project status pages.

Communication:

  • Facilitate communication between team members, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Ensure that project-related information flows smoothly within the team.

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Conduct periodic reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Problem-Solving:

  • Address challenges and obstacles promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members to find solutions.

Documentation:

  • Organize and maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping for future reference.

Client Interaction:

  • Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Provide excellent customer service throughout the project lifecycle.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the field.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software.


Preferred:

  • Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) certification or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent experience
