Job description

About the Role

We are a well-established and growing boutique law firm seeking a highly capable part-time Operations Associate to support and enhance our firm’s operations, marketing, HR, practice management and administrative functions. This is not a traditional administrative role — we’re looking for someone proactive, resourceful, and solutions-driven who thrives on taking ownership, following through, and improving how things are done. The ideal candidate will manage day-to-day operational tasks, consistently seeking more efficient ways to complete work, improve operations and efficiencies, and ultimately drive the business forward. You’ll also play a central role in our marketing, technology, and process improvement efforts, helping the firm run smoothly and positioning us for continued growth.

Location: Remote

Compensation: $40 - $50/hr

Key Skills and Responsibilities

Ownership & Follow-Through

  • Take responsibility for tasks and projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion without needing reminders.
  • Comfort making judgment calls, taking initiative and suggesting strategic paths forward.
  • Follow up proactively with internal and external parties until matters are fully resolved.

Process &Technology Improvements

  • Identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies in firm operations and propose creative, tech-driven solutions.
  • Research and implement AI tools or other technology that can streamline administrative and legal workflows.
  • Develop systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and accountability across firm operations.

Marketing & Business Development

  • Build out and maintain the firm’s online presence.
  • Draft and post marketing content, including blog posts and thought-leadership pieces, and email drip campaigns for firm contacts in the firm’s CRM.
  • Update and improve marketing materials, presentations, and client-facing documents.

General Operations Support

  • Coordinate and delegate administrative tasks as appropriate.
  • Ensure the firm’s operational processes run smoothly and efficiently, including client intake, conflicts checks and management, project management, and more.
  • Manage periodic performance check-ins, and operational check-ins, to improve professional development, feedback, and synergies within the firm’s remote-only environment.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in an operations role, preferably in a law firm or professional setting
  • Marketing experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and proactively follows through on tasks.
  • Creative thinker with a solutions-driven mindset; comfortable improving and reimagining processes.
  • Tech-savvy, with experience (or strong interest) in implementing software tools, AI, and other operational technologies.
  • Strong writing and communication skills; ability to draft marketing materials and professional content.
  • Experience in a professional services or law firm environment a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

What We Offer

  • 100% remote work environment.
  • Room for growth
  • A role with real responsibility, ownership, and opportunity to shape how the firm operates.
  • Exposure to legal, operational, and marketing aspects of a boutique law practice.
  • We are a boutique renewable energy and real estate law firm – opportunity to work in an industry that has a positive impact on the environment and is engaged to assist on deals in cutting edge industries.
  • Competitive compensation and a collaborative team environment.
