We are seeking a contract IT Project Manager to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is hybrid in NYC (midtown Manhattan) or Norwalk, Connecticut. 3 days in office
Responsibilities:
- Develop project plans and timelines and coordinate with the workstream leads and business owner. Maintain backlogs, user stories and task boards
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide updates, status and manage expectations.
- Manage cross-functional teams, including data analyst, engineers and stakeholders ensuring collaboration and alignment towards project goals.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues and develop contingency plans as needed.
- Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes.
- Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking and reporting
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with business objectives.
- Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting plans as necessary to stay on track.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
- Conduct project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.
Skills/Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of years of experience within data platform data reporting, BI projects
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions quickly.
- Time Management: Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving project objectives.
- Negotiation Skills: Capable of negotiating with vendors, stakeholders, and team members to achieve project goals.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess project performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Project Management Methodologies: Proficient in IT project management methodologies, both Agile and Waterfall.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes, data management principles, methodologies and tools, Azure fundamentals, Databricks, Power BI, Proficiency in Jira or ADO is preferred
- Business Knowledge: Reinsurance knowledge is a plus
