Job description

We are seeking a Lead IT Project Manager on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role is hybrid in NYC.



Responsibilities:

  • Develop project plans and timelines, and coordinate with the workstream leads and business owner. Maintain backlogs, user stories, and task boards
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide updates, status, and manage expectations.
  • Manage cross-functional teams, including data analysts, engineers, and stakeholders, ensuring collaboration and alignment towards project goals.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, and develop contingency plans as needed.
  • Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting
  • Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and align with business objectives.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, adjusting plans as necessary to stay on track.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Conduct project evaluations to identify successes and areas for improvement.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Project Management Methodologies: Proficient in IT project management methodologies, both Agile and Waterfall.
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes, data management principles, methodologies, and tools, Azure fundamentals, and Proficiency in Jira or ADO is preferred
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze issues and develop effective solutions quickly.
  • Time Management: Excellent organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Leadership: Ability to motivate and guide teams towards achieving project objectives.
  • Negotiation Skills: Capable of negotiating with vendors, stakeholders, and team members to achieve project goals.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess project performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Business Knowledge: Insurance/Reinsurance knowledge is a plus
