We are seeking a Lead Real Estate Accountant on a contract basis to support our Customer’s business needs. This role will work with a team of 2 other accountants overseeing commercial properties. This role is a hybrid setup (onsite 2 days a week) at our Customer's McLean, VA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Journal entry prep and Review
  • Cash analysis on a weekly basis
  • Ad hoc reporting needs
  • Reviews and/or creates real estate accounting transactions and the production of the various resulting financial reports and statements.
  • Understands client requirements and ensures consistent, accurate and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and oversee all aspects of advanced level financial statement packages, including creating and posting
  • Journal entries, ensuring cash receipts and expense payables are recorded for the period, preparing and submitting funding requests.
  • Partners with the field and Account Management teams to ensure requirements and terms of the client's

Must-haves:
  • A Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ Years of Experience in Real Estate Accounting is required (Commercial Accounting is preferred)
  • Microsoft Office Suite and Yardi experience is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues
  • CPA is preferred
