Job description
The Mom Project is partnering with a well-known internet company to support their search for a contract Legal Compliance Specialist.
This is a 100% remote role supporting both the legal operations team and the regulatory compliance team.
Hours and Location: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 100% remote in the US.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor legal email aliases, review incoming legal correspondence, and distribute communications according to legal mail policies
- Track, assess, and draft responses to consumer complaints filed with the FCC or State Attorney General offices
- Intake litigation matters and claims and calendar legal deadlines
- Review outside counsel invoices against billing guidelines and approve or reject invoices accordingly
- Manage business license registrations for new and existing markets
- Update contact and account information with federal, state, and local agencies to support regulatory submissions and business licenses
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent substantive knowledge and relevant work experience
- 2-3 years of in-house experience supporting a legal team in litigation support, regulatory compliance, or legal operations
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across a variety of legal matters
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal or equivalent qualification
- Experience with SimpleLegal (Onit) or similar legal billing software
- Experience with Google Workspace, including Gmail, Sheets, and Calendar
- Experience with regulatory compliance
- Experience in the broadband, telecommunications, cable, construction, or information/entertainment industries
