Job description
Our customer is a global provider of information-based analytics and decision tools for professional and business customers. They help researchers make new discoveries, doctors and nurses improve the lives of patients, and lawyers develop winning strategies. They prevent online fraud and money laundering and help insurance companies evaluate and predict risk. Their events combine in-person and digital experiences to help customers learn about markets, source products and complete transactions. In short, they enable customers to make better decisions, get better results and be more productive.
We are seeking a contract Legal Operations Professional with excellent writing and editing skills to develop “how-to”-type practical guidance about legal ops topics for its Practical Guidance product. Experience working as a legal ops team member in a corporate law department is preferred. The hours for this position will depend on the candidate and the company's needs, but may be between 10-20 hours per week. This role is 100% remote.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and/or edit practice notes, checklists, forms, and other practical guidance materials
Qualifications:
- An associate's degree in paralegal studies or equivalent training and/or a bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is required
- 5 years of experience on the ground as a legal operations professional, either in a corporate legal department or at a law firm
- CLOC certification or course completion, or equivalent legal operations certification or coursework, is highly desired
- Writing experience, such as for a legal operations professional organization or legal industry publications
- Excellent editing and writing skills
- Ability to complete assigned projects by prescribed deadlines
- Ability to accept feedback on writing and revise accordingly
- Organized and self-motivated
- Comfortable working in Microsoft Word and Excel
