Legal Administrative Assistant / Office Support
Office Location- Cary,NC
$20-25/hour
20 hours/week
A small law firm location in Cary, NC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented professional to support their busy estate planning practice.
This position will always include at least 50% administrative responsibilities (scheduling, reception, file management, correspondence, etc.). Over time, there is opportunity for growth into higher-level office management responsibilities. It is designed for someone who enjoys and excels at administration while growing in responsibility.
This is a fantastic fit for an experienced professional who seeks a flexible schedule and part-time hours to support work/life balance.
Schedule
- Part-time option: Monday–Thursday, 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m. (occasional Fridays as needed). Open to designing a schedule that works well for each individual.
Compensation and Benefits
- $20.00–$25.00/hour, based on experience
- Paid vacation and federal holidays
- 401K with employer match (after 1,000 hours/year)
- Convenient Cary location with ample parking
Responsibilities
- Greet clients, guests, and visitors in a professional manner
- Answer and route calls on a multiline phone system
- Manage attorney calendars and track deadlines
- Open files, input client data, and maintain organized records
- Scan, copy, and email document
- Handle mail, correspondence, and filing
- Maintain reception area and office supplies
- Support attorneys with routine office administration
- Grow into oversight of office operations, vendors, and systems
Requirements
- 3+ years’ legal assistant or administrative support role
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently with attention to detail
- Professional, welcoming demeanor with clients
Preferred Qualifications
- Administrative experience in a law, medical, or professional office
- Notary Public certification or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with cloud-based office management software
- Paralegal experience in estates, real property, or litigation (a plus but not required)
