Job description

The Mom Project is excited to partner with our client, a retained executive search and consulting firm focusing exclusively in the Real Estate Industry founded by a former real estate lawyer and a working mom.

They are looking for a candidate with strong roots in the Legal and/or Commercial Real Estate industry to join their team on a remote basis, ideally in EST or CST.

The ideal candidate will either be a former attorney who wants to pivot into the world of building teams through talent acquisitions, a former commercial real estate practitioner (former brokers welcome!), or a senior recruiter or practitioner in the real estate industry.

The Recruiter will be responsible for conducting preliminary boolean searches on LinkedIn and other databases, identify, evaluate, and present qualified candidates for assigned roles - 50% of which are in real estate in-house legal roles.

The ideal candidate is an eager, detail oriented, proactive, self-motivated, tech-savvy, problem-solver who enjoys taking on challenging situations in a team environment to deliver the best fit for our clients.

You do not need a bakground in executive search to be successful in this role. Ideally, you may be a past attorney or commercial real estate broker who is looking for a new career pivot and has a deep understanding of this industry.

Core responsibilities:

  1. Conduct relevant research to compile an appropriate target list of companies/candidates for each assignment
  2. Source for new talent needed for project delivery in the targeted searches involving real estate in-house counsel, development, asset management, and acquisitions roles.
  3. Schedule in depth qualification calls with prospective candidates to discuss role requirements
  4. Build rapport with prospective candidates
  5. Gather and disseminate key competitive information within the delivery team to constantly improve business development strategies, and efficiencies in placement speed without jeopardizing integrity.
  6. Educate, excite, and inspire candidates on the career opportunities and path
  7. Develop and maintain candidate flow supporting several client assignments at any given time.
  8. Maintain personal relationships with candidates throughout the entire recruitment and employment process

Qualifications/Skills

  1. Previous experience recruiting and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, demanding, high-growth, yet collaborative environment
  2. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to effectively project manage assignments and balance priorities.
  3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, articulate and with high EQ
  4. Ability to utilize the following search methods: social media, applicant tracking system, job boards, networking, employee referrals, internet searches, etc.
  5. Proven customer service and relationship-building skills
  6. Goal-oriented and internally motivated individual who takes ownership of assigned projects, and takes pride in their work and work product.
  7. Prior real estate industry or legal recruiting experience required
  8. Familiarity with the real estate investment industry a plus.
  9. Former attorneys and/or real estate professionals looking to pivot into talent acquisition also a plus.
  10. Growth mindset and desire to grow with our growing organization.

Company benefits/perks

  1. Supportive and collaborative tech-forward team
  2. Part-time role with the future potential of additional hours or full-time.

All applicants applying for U.S. job openings must be legally authorized to work in the United States and are required to have U.S. residency at the time of application.

If you are a person with a disability needing assistance with the application, or at any point in the hiring process, please contact us at support@themomproject.com.

Screening Questions

  • List out the first 5-10 steps you would follow in starting a search to recruit for an in-house real estate transactional lawyer for Starwood Capital based in Washington, D.C. (note this is a hypothetical).

  • What are your super powers in descending order when it comes to recruiting/sourcing?
  • what are you most proud of in your professional career/roles?
