Job description

Legal Secretary

On site: Lynnwood, WA
1099 Contractor
16 hours/week - on average
Flexible on days/schedule


We are looking for an organized, self-directed legal assistant who eager to learn and grow into the position.

Your role is to ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management. You will provide a broad spectrum of legal administrative services under the supervision of an attorney.

Looking for part time contract employee to start with potential to become an employee position.

Responsibilities

  1. Provide administrative support to lawyer and enhance office effectiveness
  2. Handle communication with potential and current clients, etc.
  3. Type up and file basic legal documents and correspondence
  4. Maintain client electronic and paper files
  5. Monitor deadlines and juggle calendars

Skills

  1. Excellent secretarial and organizational skills
  2. Superior communication - written and spoken, as an ambassador for our firm
  3. Experience as legal assistant is a plus - familiarity with, or willingness to learn, law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system
  4. Satisfactory knowledge of day-to-day operations of a business office
  5. Computer literacy - Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Acrobat, etc.)
  6. Ability to work with numbers - creating inventories or financial accounting
  7. Working knowledge of legal case management software or willing to learn quickly
  8. Ability to juggle multiple activities, work under pressure, and finish projects
  9. Attention to detail is essential.
