Services Description
The contractor is responsible for the creation and maintenance of an original comprehensive cataloging system supporting business, research, and reference needs of the organization.
Contract Services:
· Create and maintain an original comprehensive cataloging system organizing records for historical business documents ensuring materials are properly filed and stored (physical and electronic).
· Create accurate and brief descriptions of materials within the cataloging system and other documents as identified.
· Propose policies and procedures supporting the cataloging system.
· Answer questions and retrieve documents as required from the cataloging system.
· Collaborate with team members as needed to ensure effective delivery of services.
· Participate in meetings as needed and propose improvements if necessary.
· Assist as needed with processing materials (physical and electronic).
· Other related services as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Takes initiative, anticipates the needs of others, and is a self-starter.
· Impeccable attention to detail.
· Knowledge of the Microsoft suite of tools with emphasis on Excel and SharePoint.
· Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds or less.
Education and Experience
· Minimum of five (5) years of experience.
· MLS from ALA-accredited program or equivalent library experience.
· Previous original and copy cataloging experience is a plus.
· General knowledge of a wide range of subjects in order to appropriately identify and classify materials and documents. Corporate, accounting or tax records is a plus.
