Litigation Paralegal
Litigation Paralegal
Our Client - Legal company
- San Francisco, CA
Job description
Our client is seeking a Litigation Paralegal with at least 8 years of experience to join our tight-knit firm. This position can be 100% remote but individuals will need to be located in the Bay Area in the rare event they need to come into the office for a depositions trial.
The firm represents individuals, corporations, tech companies, or investors in business disputes regarding corporate governance, securities/investments, and trade secrets. The team is small and efficient, so the position carries substantial responsibility for interfacing with court clerks, vendors, and senior attorneys.
The Litigation Paralegal will split their time between securities litigation related to state court complex divisions and administrative support.
Position Responsibilities:
- Managing all aspects of filing, document management, calendaring, blue booking, and briefs.
- Supporting litigation in state/federal court.
- An understanding of court procedures including reading statutes, and providing attorneys with guidance on the procedural aspects of filings (ECF and e-filings).
- Overseeing factual development, discovery, and interfacing with doc review platforms.
- Bates labeling and document management.
- Calendaring and making sure that court appearances are set up.
- Scheduling firm Christmas Dinner and organizing firm events.
- Minimum 8 years of prior paralegal experience.
- Open on type of litigation, but securities litigation is helpful.
- Someone experienced in SF Superior Court is a huge plus.
- Fluent in Everlaw and Westlaw. This paralegal will also use Logical but the firm is willing to train on this platform if candidates don't have prior experience.
- Individuals need to be very tech-savvy and quick to learn new platforms. Prior experience with some of the following platforms would be helpful: Asana, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Logical, Relativity, Citrix, and Sharefile for obtaining signatures.
- This individual must have polished work product and presence.
- Work-life balance; open to working with people based on their preferred work schedules.
- The position is full-time and can be in-office or remote. We will provide equipment, training, and support for a home-office arrangement.
- Serving our clients zealously and with the highest integrity.
- Catering to the specific needs of our team members to enable their success and hit their individual goals.
- Fostering a merits-based and supportive team environment.
- Serving our community through philanthropy and pro bono work.
