Our Customer is an American computer and consumer electronics company famous for creating phones and computers. As one of the largest companies globally with a market cap of over 2 trillion dollars, it is a major leader in the space. Although this company was founded in 1976 it has transformed how we connect and communicate worldwide.
We are seeking a Localization Producer on a contract basis to support their business needs. This role is responsible for producing localized featured content (editorial copy and artwork) with limited supervision. They work closely with vendors, editorial staff, business teams and other producers to define expectations and ensure that project localization is on track, relevant to the audience, and represents the company's voice in the marketplace. This individual also manages the input of localized data into multiple internal systems without error and manages the quality assurance and troubleshooting of the copy's behavior in all relevant platforms and markets. The ideal candidate will be committed to giving our non-US customers a user experience equivalent to or superior to that of our US customers. This role is a hybrid setup with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote in Culver City, CA.
What You’ll Do:
- Project manage campaigns from concept level to go-live
- Represent localization team in meetings
- Manage deliverables, prepare and present presentations
- Work with producers of English/International English/other language content, and vendors to ensure that localization production can be undertaken with no rework
- Analyze and manage localized data
Must Haves:
- Desire to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment and have the ability to prioritize urgent issues
- The ability to write, as well as edit copy as an International Editorial expert
- Expert-level editorial capability English language
- Editorial experience and journalistic background in Music are highly preferred
- The ability to learn and manage data in complex content management systems
- Teamwork – The candidate will coordinate localization projects with marketing, vendors, localization team staff, legal and other departments across the company globally
- Must be highly detail-oriented with an extreme sense of urgency and able to multitask
- Comfort in multiple languages desired and ability to deal with large volumes in up to 40 languages simultaneously
- Knowledge of marketing copy, international marketing copy and the global marketplace desired
- Experience in the application, website, or software localization
- The ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external partners, such as translators, designers and editorial teams, to ensure seamless localization workflows and product launches
- Understanding of localization industry standards, methodologies and best practices
- Knowledge of linguistic considerations such as cultural adaptation and ensuring contextually appropriate translations for each market
- Tech-savvy
- The ability to dive into technical documentation and platform behaviors
- Comfort in learning new and complex programs and tools
- Excellent ability to identify priorities amongst competing projects, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and negotiate terms as needed
- The ability to anticipate blockers ahead, continuously driving improvements and efficiencies
- Native-level expertise in at least one language in addition to English
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
Hours & Location:
- M-F, 40 hours/week. This role is a hybrid setup with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote in Culver City, CA.
