Our Customer is a corporation that develops, manufactures, and markets robotic products designed to improve clinical outcomes of patients through minimally invasive surgery. Founded in 1995, their goal was to create innovative, robotic-assisted systems that help empower doctors and hospitals to make surgery less invasive than an open approach. Working with the top medical professionals, they continue to develop new, minimally invasive surgical platforms and future diagnostic tools to help solve complex healthcare challenges around the world.
We are seeking a Logistics Analyst on a contract basis to support our Customer's business needs. This role is onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.
The Logistics Analyst plays a vital role in analyzing, optimizing, and coordinating logistics operations across multiple channels including parcel shipping, freight, and third-party logistics (3PL) management. This role requires strong analytical skills, a data-driven mindset, and hands-on experience with systems like UPS Portal, FedEx shipping, and freight forwarding processes. The ideal candidate will also serve as a liaison between logistics providers and customer service teams to ensure cost-effective, timely, and customer-focused delivery solutions.
Responsibilities:
Shipping & Carrier Management:
- Oversee daily operations related to parcel (UPS, FedEx), freight, and LTL/truckload shipments.
- Utilize UPS Portal and FedEx systems to manage and track shipments.
- Monitor carrier performance and ensure SLA compliance.
Freight Forwarding & 3PL Management:
- Manage relationships and service levels with third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders.
- Coordinate international and domestic freight shipments, including documentation and customs requirements.
- Analyze and audit freight invoices for accuracy and negotiate rates as needed.
Logistics Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Gather, clean, and analyze logistics data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Develop dashboards and reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs) like on-time delivery, transit time, freight cost per unit, etc.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement logistics process improvements.
Customer Service Collaboration:
- Act as a point of contact for logistics-related customer inquiries.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies and provide proactive updates to customer service teams.
- Partner with internal departments to ensure alignment of shipping timelines and service standards.
Process Optimization & Compliance:
- Evaluate and improve logistics processes, including packaging, labeling, routing, and carrier selection.
- Ensure compliance with trade regulations, shipping policies, and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain analytics.
- Proficient in UPS Portal and FedEx shipping systems.
- Familiarity with freight forwarding, trucking, and 3PL operations.
- Strong data analysis skills: proficiency in Excel, SQL, or BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- ERP/WMS background (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.).
- Knowledge of international shipping, customs, and Incoterms.
- Customer service experience within a logistics or supply chain environment.
- Analytical certifications or coursework (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma, Logistics Management).
