Job description

Our Customer is a technology company that connects people with the best of their neighborhoods across the US, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Germany. They enable local businesses to meet consumers’ needs of ease and convenience, and, in turn, generate new ways for people to earn, work, and live. By building the last-mile logistics infrastructure for local commerce, they’re fulfilling our mission to grow and empower local economies.

Our Customer is seeking a Logistics Coordinator on a contract basis to help support our Customer's business needs. This role is 100% remote in EST hours (Thursdays to Mondays, 8 am to 5 pm).

The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in overseeing shipment delivery, transportation processes, and logistics systems to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with business objectives. This role involves coordinating schedules, monitoring shipments, resolving delivery issues, and maintaining compliance with quality and service standards. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proven experience in transportation or logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistics schedules between merchants, internal departments, and distribution centers.
  • Review purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Build and tender shipments to partner carriers; make special shipping arrangements as needed.
  • Track, document, and correct shipping errors, overages, shortages, or damaged shipment issues.
  • Prepare bills, invoices, and shipping documentation; maintain accurate pre- and post-shipment records.
  • Perform Track and Trace activities and ensure Proof of Delivery for all shipments.
  • Evaluate, record, and respond to additional or special service requests (e.g., lift-gate, inside delivery).
  • Conduct regular audits of logistics procedures to assess capabilities and recommend improvements.
  • Optimize transport planning to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.
  • Work with transportation providers and freight payment teams to ensure accurate accessorial costs and billing flows.
  • Handle damage and loss claims promptly and effectively.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving safety, service, and operational issues.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in a logistics, supply chain, or transportation role is required.
  • Strong understanding of shipment coordination and documentation procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in logistics systems, transport planning tools, or related software is a plus.

We offer a competitive salary range for this position. Most candidates who join our team are hired at the median of this range, ensuring fair and equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.
