Job description

A partner of The Mom Project in the transportation/logistics industry is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to help support their business needs. This role is onsite in Auburn Hills, MI.


The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing service requests from customers with the goal of meeting and exceeding customer expectations while obtaining key factor goals. You will work closely with vendors, LSP (logistics service providers), suppliers, and internal team members to ensure customers service request are fulfilled in a timely manner. You will be responsible for tracking shipments, load planning, managing inventory levels, resolving and escalating issues related to the logistics operations of your assigned account(s).


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely with team members to meet or exceed all customer service requirements.
  • Coordinate and manage the movement of goods from suppliers to customers.
  • Communicate with customers, suppliers, and logistics service providers to ensure shipments are delivered on time and according to customer specifications.
  • Track shipments and manage inventory levels.
  • Executes Load planning and optimization strategy.
  • Resolve any issues that arise during the shipping process, including delays, damages, and lost shipments.
  • Develops and maintains positive customer relationships.
  • Ensures the attainment of applicable key factors.
  • Responsible for accurate data capture and system entry.
  • Provides remote and on-site support to teams including customer service, material planning, logistics and supply chain departments.
  • Utilizes the quality process to resolve customer service and vendor issues.
  • Assists with new account start-ups.
  • Proactively anticipates and resolves potential customer service partner vendor and internal team issues.
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Project work as required.

Educational Background / Work Experience / Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in a logistics, customer service or related field.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
