Job description

Manager of Training Materials Development (Remote Role; 1 Week Travel/Month)

Job Summary:
As Manager of Training Materials Development, you will partner with our sales team and clients to design, develop, and expand best-in-class aviation training resources. You’ll leverage your pilot background and training expertise to oversee projects from concept through delivery—and help grow our product portfolio to meet evolving industry needs. This is a fully remote role for day to day work, with an expectation of one week of travel per month to client sites, our headquarters office, and industry events.

Who You Are

  • An experienced aviation training professional (3+ years in airline training)
  • A former or current commercial pilot (minimum 3 years of flight experience)
  • A strategic thinker with strong client-management skills
  • A collaborative SME who enjoys coaching peers and engaging with stakeholders
  • Passionate about continuous improvement and expanding product offerings as well as elevating training across the industry

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert alongside the sales team during client calls, demos, and in-person events
  • Build and maintain relationships with airline training departments and third-party training organizations
  • Oversee end-to-end development of training deliverables, including cockpit posters, cabin crew materials, and maintenance-training support
  • Manage multiple projects—setting timelines, coordinating SMEs, and ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery
  • Contribute hands-on to content creation when needed, from story-boarding to final proofs
  • Identify opportunities to enhance and expand the current portfolio of training products

Required Experience

  • At least 3 years of professional experience in airline or aviation training
  • Minimum 3 years as a commercial airline pilot (ATP or equivalent license)
  • Proven track record managing complex training-development projects
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and shifting priorities as client needs evolve
  • Graphic design or page layout experience is a plus

Typical Day

  • Leading a kickoff call with a new airline client to define training objectives
  • Reviewing draft cockpit poster layouts and providing technical feedback
  • Meeting with sales and design teams to align on upcoming deliverables
  • Hosting training-product demos at an industry conference or onsite workshop
  • Updating roadmap for next-generation training materials based on market feedback

Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive base salary + performance bonus, flexible remote work, professional development stipend
